With the rust holes patched, I started putting some layers of body putty on which extended to the front fender ding.
While that dried, I removed the door handle and keyhole. The keyhole only has a clip holding it in place and it pops right out.
The door handle has two small bolts (I believe 5/16” or 11/32”). It is a little difficult reaching in but once found with a light , it isn’t too tough. I suggest using a 3/8 flexible socket extension to reach in through the inside with the interior door panel removed.
After observing the door more wit surface rust, I quickly realized this was task was a good candidate for replacing the whole door panel skin.
I eventually decided to keep the progress going and working I what I had into shape. Otherwise it would delay me at least a week or two
