Today I installed the rear window. It was removed to weld in the driver side quarter panel that went up along the window and to weld in a new panel in between the trunk lid and window.
I started by cleaning up the surface with lacquer thinner and a rag. The window was was cleaned with soap and water, followed by scrapping grime off with a razor blade and wiped clean again with lacquer.
First I laid the glass in without the sealant and got it centered. I placed 2 or 3 layers of cardboard pieces at the bottom to hold up the window. I even used calipers to try getting the gaps somewhat even on both sides. The masking tape was applied when it was centered to help as a guide when aligning. Cut the tape and then removed the glass.
I placed the sealant on the metal frame , then placed the glass on it by matching up the tape lines.

Then I lightly pushed in around the edges.
The four corners didn’t seem to fully seal and come into contact with the sealant well so I kneaded in more sealant there.
